Hi,

I apologize for what must be a somewhat elementary question. But I
would like to avoid spending hours trying to get this to work only to
learn that it is not possible. I am a lifelong Mac user, and thus a
Windows novice. The Virtual PC [7] Getting Started booklet seems only
to mention printing ...

I have a CanoScan LiDE 80 scanner [PowerMac G5 2x1.8, OS X 10.3.8, VPC
7.0.1, XP Pro] that I would like to run from within an application in
Virtual PC and Windows XP Pro. It is a Chinese OCR application that
isn't available for the Macintosh--I've got it all set up and ready to
go--now I just need to try to get the scanner to work with
it--otherwise I guess I'm stuck making scans in OS X and dragging and
dropping them into Windows--two or three extra steps I'd like to avoid.

My question is, is this possible? Should I install the Windows XP
drivers? Or is it enough to have the Mac drivers installed? Or is it
hopeless?

Thanks!
