adjtimex - Linux under VPC 7

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I've installed SuSE Enterprise Linux 9 under VPC 7. It basically works
pretty well except the system clock time compared to hwclock or wall
clock is about 4 times slower.

E.g. with the following:

while :
do
sleep 1
date;date -u; hwclock --show
done

The sleep 1 actually takes about 4 seconds to come back. The output
from date; date -u has ticked 1 second but the hwclock has ticked about
4.

Soooo, my assumption is that if you run Linux under VPC you're on your
own support-wise and clock anomalies are to be expected ?

If this is the case then I intend to tune the kernel tick using
'adjtimex'. I was wondering if any people in the VPC and Mac
communities had been through this before & could offer any information
or tips/pointers.

TIA,
DB.
