So, should I commit the changes, restart Windows, defrag, zero, shut
down, and then commit again?

Or create a second installation of Windows on a second image, shut down
and commit the first installation. Then start the second installation,
defrag the first installation and zero it (not that I would know how to
defrag or zero stuff on a not-running Windows image)?
