I'm holding off to get VirtualPC till the next release (I have a G5). I
currently use a 2GHz Dell with vmware to manage 2 Virtual Machines.
I would like to eventually get rid of the Dell and use my Dual 1.8GHz G5
with VirtualPC to manage a WinXP Pro machine and two linux machines (all
three with light loads).
The only issue is that the linux machines must have static IPs. With
vmware, it can put the physical network card into "promiscuous" mode and
make it appear as if each virtual machine has its very own NIC (with a
different MAC address even). So, each virtual machine can have a static IP
on the Internet.
Can I do that with VirtualPC or does it force me to use NAT with DHCP?
Thanks,
Chad Hardin
