Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel

When trying to print from the File menu in either Word or Excel the
programs crashes and advise me to report the problem.

I have tried re-installing the Office 2008 again and the same thing
happens. I then re-installed Office 2004 and again the same crashes occur
so the problems happens in either Office program.

Reinstalling applications on the Mac is *rarely* the correct approach. The
app software rarely goes bad & even if you do have a "defective" copy
reinstalling it just reinstalls the defect. This approach often causes more
problems than it can possibly cure. Is Office fully up to date [12.1.5]?

Printer programs and drivers have been re-installed in both printers.

But have you checked the mfr's site for updates? Reinstalling the same
drivers won't do any good if they're out of date. That's the first thing to
suspect when printing problems occur.

Printers both work when using my iMac and the problem arise when using my
MacBook.

Unfortunately that doesn't mean anything except that the printers are
operable and your iMac config is OK - It says nothing about the MaacBook :-)
Are both systems running the exact same OS version, the exact same software
version *and* the exact same driver version?

On one occasion I saw a fleeting message once about something to do with
IJP Foundation plug-in.

That could be the printer driver issue mentioned above.

It could also be the OS. I'd suggest that you also go to the Apple Downloads
site & retrieve the OS X Leopard 10.5.6 COMBO Update & apply that. Then run
Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions & restart your Mac.

Any help would be more than appreciated.
