Re: Installation - product key issues!

Hi Jenny:

You can't circumvent this step: the product key unlocks the software.

You can use a drag-and-drop install: put the CD in and drag the Microsoft
Office 2004 folder to your application. That will perform a full
installation for you.

However, as soon as you try to start any of the applications, you will be
prompted for the product key. The software is telling you that the key you
are entering is incorrect, There's nothing you can do about that, you need
the correct key.

Go back to the friend and ask them for the product package: the product key
is on the back. Or ring Microsoft and ask them what is wrong with the key:
you may find that you have a key that has been disabled because it has been
pirated. That's very unlikely on the Mac ? I think you have an error in the
key string.

The number of "times" you have installed makes no difference, the factor is
the number of "computers". Each licence key allows installation to only one
computer, an unlimited number of times.

Hope this helps

I am trying to install Office for Macs 2004 with a startup disc that I
was given by a friend. It has not been installed three times. When
prompted to enter my 25-character product key, I tried both keys that
were given to me. Each time it says, "Please verify the product key
you entered is correct." My friend assures me it is the correct
number. How can I circumvent this step to install and use Office?
