I hope so too <grin>.

I attributed it to it being the app already set as default, therefore
you would not neded to choose it again. But that's only my
interpretation.

I repaired permissions anyway and it changed nothing.

You will have seen in my reply to Daiya that mail to links in Word
documents work fine. Do you happen to know which of the two mechanisms
you describe Word uses to send things to an email app? Could it be a
different mechanism in these two cases? Sounds unlikely to me but you
never know!

Otherwise we seem to be left wiith Word doing different things with the
same pref.

I mentioned earlier in the thread that this is the student & teacher
edition. You don't suppose, just maybe, that in this edition send via
email is hard wired to use Entourage?
