Thanks for the info. Sorry to not get back sooner, but working for a
living really cramps my style sometimes.
Anyway... The first thing I'd suggest is that you try using the
Insert>Picture command rather than pasting or drag & drop for any
images. It's not unusual for a file to "forget" where the picture is
when these last two options are used. In the same vein, its a good
idea to keep the image file in the same location as when it was
inserted. Further, if you use the same image in several templates, use
the Insert command in each, rather than copying & pasting from one to
another.
Secondly, I've seen it posted that, unlike earlier versions, '04 stores
a full copy of the image rather than a low-res copy. I have not seen
any official material from M$ (and no disrespect for the poster) but
I'm still not convinced that there isn't a file size limit to what the
doc stores and still relies on the original for full fidelity. My
skepticism is based on having inserted a 2.8 MB tiff in a doc and
finding that the doc file size only increased by <300K>.
