Project Gallery contents missing

The Project Gallery on my iMac has lost almost everything that was in it. It displays only Blank Documents, My Templates (a folder I created for templates; but now is entirely empty), and Based On Recent; all the rest is gone. All of these templates/wizards are on the hard drive in the right place (Applications/Microsoft Office X/Templates). So why doesn't Project Gallery see them? How can I get them back?
