    I had the same problem in editing in OSX any graphs/charts
    created in Windows (whether created via object or directly
    as chart).

    Also, PPT OSX won't let me create new graphs from directly
    (Insert > Chart). I have to use "Insert > Object > Chart"
    as alluded to below.
