Re: Word doesn't remember window size or position

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

I don't know, John... I haven't made a point of it, but I've noticed some
un-preferred behavior myself. I've never made an issue of it because I seem
to have enough time on my hands to resize document windows when necessary,
but I can understand how it may be irritating to some.

Not disagreeing with or contradicting anything you wrote but this is one
example of a different ilk: Take document A, size the window & set the zoom.
Open & close the file all day with no variation. However, close doc A, open
doc B & resize it to something other than what A was, then open A again. It
opens at the size of B - and no, Spaces & dual monitors aren't involved :-)

If you always open a Word document on the same monitor you saved it from, it
will always open at the zoom it was saved at.

If you have Word 2004 or earlier, you can use a macro to set the zoom level
whenever you open a document (I use that at work to set every document to
125 per cent on open).

Word 2008 is not compatible with Spaces. If you run Spaces, you will get
problems. That can't be changed in this version. Turn Spaces off, or use
Word 2004.

Hope this helps

Ditto, ditto and ditto. Getting tiresome opening docs and having to re-size
