Re: Size of the "Save" and "Save As" dialog boxes in Word

Sadly, the way to reset the size of that dialog is to drag the right-hand
corner of the dialog, then quit Word.
It is a Finder window (not part of Word) and it opens to the size last set.
Probably the only way to do this would be to set a higher screen resolution.
Which would involve plugging a larger monitor into your Mac Book.
Which would involve finding one of the special adaptors the MacBook uses for
its monitor.
Which might involve taking the thing in to your nearest Apple shop and
asking them if you could borrow their monitor and an adaptor for a few
seconds :-)
Hope this helps

When I try to save new documents in Word, the application opens the standard
save dialog box. However, the dialog box opens so wide that the Save button is
off the screen to the right on my MacBook and inaccessible to me. Only the
left tip of the Cancel button is visible, and the box will not allow me to
drag it to the left so that the buttons become visible and clickable.
The reason the box opens so large is that it is showing the rightward
expanding columns for nested folders seven layers deep. I use a lot of nested
folders to organize my files, and at some point in the past, I saved a file in
a folder seven layers down from the root folder. Now it ALWAYS shows seven
columns in the dialog box, even if I am only using the first few columns
(i.e., saving the file in the root directory or even one or two layers down).
I do not know how to fix this problem. I either need to be able to change the
default so that the save box opens the window with fewer column (I rarely need
seven). Or I need to be able to drag it to a position where I can see and
click on the buttons.
Any assistance would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
