Re: MS Office 2008

Hi Don -

Don't despair, but don't reinstall either - that's a common practice in the
PC world, but not on a Mac :-)

Did you apply the OS X 10.5.5 Combo? If not, please do that & see if it
makes any difference. If you have done so or if it doesn't correct the
problem once you do we'll need a bit more info but it should be correctable.

Are any other programs behaving in a similar manner - Office or otherwise?

Is this something that just started? If so, what else might have gotten
changed on your system around the same time?

What exactly do you mean by "crash"? Does the program actually shut down?
Does it remain open but stop responding?

Is the crashing associated with any particular document, or does it not make
any difference what document you're in at the time?

Is there any specific event or command that seems to trigger the crash?

Do you have any other software in use when the crashes occur? Are you using
any utility or "helper" programs, antivirus programs, etc.?

Have you moved or deleted anything from the MS Office 2008 folder?

Keep in mind that no one here can actually see what's going on there, so we
have to rely on what you tell us. Provide complete descriptive responses &
someone will be able to get you over the hump. Problems of this nature
typically have specific causes, it's just a matter of determining what the
cause is - that's the hard part. Then the fix is usually simple :-)

I have upgraded my installation, repaired disk permissions and it is still

Do I just need to bite the bullet and uninstall and install again?

I'm at my wits end!
