Not a MS issue:-) But... Absolutely. In fact the OS X not only provides the
same type of "raw" screen capture but also provides a utility by the name of
Grab which is far more versatile. See Mac Help on the topic:

New to Mac here. One gizmo I'm really missing from a p.c. key board is Screen
Grab or Print Screen (a thing that allows you to take a picture of the screen
you are looking at, edit it and then use that image) Does Mac have this
ability?
