Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Sorry: You're still not going to get any useful information out of me,
simply because I don't HAVE any :-) Microsoft does not tell us which bugs
they have logged, whether they are scheduled for fix, or when.

Basically, I expect any bugs reported before February have a ticket in the
lottery. Whether they make it or not depends on how difficult the fix is,
and whose code (Apple or Microsoft) the problem was found in.

I've spent the past 30 years working in and around software development
teams, so I have some "feel" for which bugs are likely to be "hard" and
which ones should be only a one-line code change.

Based on my crystal-ball gazing and tea-leaf assessment, the "missing chars"
bug ought to turn out to be a bad font pointer, which means it should be
"easy", and it was reported a while ago.

Sorry :-)

Sorry for the erroneous word 'knowledge'. Put it another way: given that you
expect the discussed errors to make the patch, whenever it may appear, what
else do you expect to be in it?
