Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry


None of this has worked, I am at the end of my rope.
Any ideas?

Despite what they say in the forums, this seems to be a pretty common
problem. Here's what worked for me:
- Completely uninstall Office -- use the Uninstall tool on the CD if
available
- Perform an Archive and Install using your Mac OS restore discs, to
re-build your OS (I had to go back down to 10.4.6)
- When you get back in (don't worry, nothing will be lost if you check
the box for "Archive and Install" and make sure you preserve your user
settings), run Software Update repeatedly until there are no more
updates available
- Re-install MS Office

Don't bother running the Office updates, they take forever and do
nothing. The best thing to do is just to re-install the OS. It's
mercifully quick, and for the most part everything just works when you
get back in.

Don't bother pursuing help in these forums. They just send you to some
crappy webpage with troubleshooting steps any 2 year old would have
tried first. Obviously Microsoft and Apple need to do some QC together
when a major OS update comes out...
