Hi,

I never noticed that before, but I confirm your observation.

If you already have graphs in Excel there are several alternatives to
starting from scratch.

Does the source data change? Would you like to link graphs in Word to Excel
documents? (this can be tricky)

Here's one way:

In Word use the Insert menu and choose Object. Click the From File button
and navigate to the Excel Workbook that has the graph.

There are varies ways to copy, paste and embed. Each has its own particular
nuances. You can copy and paste as pictures. Some day I'll get around to
writing a nice article about this.

I'm making some charts in Word 2004. In Excel, I have an option to use
a separate column as the standard error values (different for each
plotted point). I don't see that option for Word- based charts. Do I
need to Copy/ Paste the Excel graph instead?
