Yes, we get this problem reported every so often on OS 10.4.x. We really
don't have a clear indication of what is causing it.

You need to ensure first that you have ALL the latest patches and fixes from
both Apple and Microsoft installed: there have been several attempts to fix
these issues.

If you've already done that, try disabling Spotlight. Someone suggested
that it might be a file deadlock between Spotlight and the saving
application.
