I've done it when I find that the filename I was about to Save As under
is already used, and I don't remember what the already-saved file is.
Being able to open it, evaluate it, and close it again without leaving
the Save As dialog is pretty convenient in that case.
However, it probably happens once a quarter, if that often...
.
