Re: Word Mac 2004 Major Flaw?

Never seen this here, nor (I don't think) heard it reported. To get a
better picture:

Exactly what version of Word 2004 is in use at these schools? Exactly what
version of OS X is installed at these schools?

Are students saving to a local hard drive or to a server?

When you say largish documents, do you mean 10 pages or 100? Mostly text or
also including graphics?

A random guess: is it possible that students are actually opening the backup
copy of the file? which, not being a true backup, *would* by definition have
the second-to-latest version of the document, and thus kinda match your
description of what happens.
