What exactly do you mean by that? You will need to have Word (the program)
installed on both computers.
Otherwise, it does just work, as far as Word goes. MacWord will open
documents created in WinWord and vice versa, no problem. When people report
a problem, it's usually because they emailed it with the wrong attachment
settings. Sometimes if the (.doc) extension is not there, people need to use
File | Open instead of double-clicking.
Burning CDs may or may not be cross-platform, though--MacHelp says the CDs
it burns are readable by most PCs but doesn't promise all PCs, and I haven't
a clue re the Windows software.
Assuming the sony has USB ports that are somewhat accessible, a USB drive
(aka flash, pen, key, thumb drive) might be more convenient. Some come with
free extender cords.
If you have internet at home, I would probably just email the documents
between. Or networking the computers should be very doable.
