Thanks. It appears that Office.X doesn't work as the documentation
says it should. For now, Command-clicking on all of the links and
doing an "update now" seems the best workaround. Of course, ms-word
then requires that the table of contents be rebuilt. I do wish
Microsoft would pay some attention to the needs of book and other long
ms. writers. Or maybe the new 2004 version will fix these bugs.
