    Hi Jerry,

    The idea behind embedded objects is that if you double-click on the object
    the application that created the object can be used to edit and update the
    object.

    There are two levels of Object Linking and Embedding (OLE 1 and OLE 2).
    Macintosh Office currently supports level 1. Level 2 support is under
    consideration and might reduce some of the problems you see with embedded
    objects. To suggest that level 2 support be added use the feedback choice on
    the Office help menu.

    Still, in order for OLE to work the application that created the object
    needs to be OLE aware and also has to run on the local computer. So even if
    OLE 2 is in place you would need AutoCAD and AutoCAD would have to be OLE
    aware.
