Did this, logged in as my user holding down shift when I clicked the log in button, created a new PPT, drew a rectangle, tried to resize and same thing . I also posted that applying an existing .pot crashes (need force quit - not responding). Same thing
No, reinstalling on the Mac is never the appropriate direction to go. The
program files do not corrupt, so you aren't addressing the problem that way
& simply force yourself to have to go through all the updating again without
getting anything corrected The files that cause the problems don't get
replaced by reinstalling unless you do a proper "scorched earth" technique
which is reserved as a last resort :-)
First, try running the program from a different user account to see if the
problem occurs there. Also, log out then hold Shift while logging in & see
if the problem remains. Post back with complete details of each process.

12.1.5, so if you aren't at that level that's teh first thing that should be
done. Run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions as well - even if you've
already updated - then restart your Mac.
FWIW, I have a number of .pptx files definitely created in the 2007 version
& have experienced no such issue.
