Excel doesn't have a footnoting feature. You do manual footnoting by typing
the number, selecting it, then using Format> Cells - Superscript & typing he
footnote text elsewhere, but there is no automating updating or enumeration.
You might consider creating a Word document for your text & inserting data
or charts from Excel into the document.
