Update: I got a copy of FuncRes from someone, put back a single copy, and
I'm
back to the original problem. I cant just turn off the add-in, though, I use
VBA. Plus, now, when I go to the add-ins menu, the Analysis Toolpak (not the
VBZ one) is listed as ------. selcting it again does not help. Stop me

I think this is one case where deleting and reinstalling office might help.
Try running remove Office from the install disk, empty the trash, restart
the machine and reinstall. Then restart again, repair permissions and then
try it.

Ugh. There have been a bunch of updates. Is there a way to custom install
so that I don't have to go through all that updating all at once ? Are
there updates that are skippable ?

The simple answer is no. Since you have deleted some critical files, and
have others in questionable locations, I think the best approach in your
case is to remove Office, reinstall from the original disc and the reapply
all the updates.
