Re: Excel hangs

One other thing - you might try re-applying Apple's QuickTime 7.2 update.

A couple of ideas which you may have tried but didn't mention:

1- Make sure Office is updated. Run the 11.3.5, 11.3.6 & 11.3.7 updates in
that order (11.3.8. isn't necessary at this time & it can be applied
later), then run Disk Utility - Repair Disk Permissions,

2- Check the mfr's site to see if there is an update for your printer
driver. If so install it, if not reinstall a fresh copy of the most
current one & (either way) repair permissions afterwards.

I have recently encountered a very perplexing problem. When I open
Excel everything seems normal and sometimes it will open a file as it
should. These are all .xls files. If I try to open a second file the
program hangs up with a blank inage of the file on the screen. My
only choice is to do a force quit. I have run the uninstall program
twice making certain that it removes all traces of Office. I have
done two separate archive and installs of MacOSX 10.4.10. I have run
Disk Warrior many times and corrected any errors which were
identified. I have run Apples Disk Repair utility and apparently
there are no issues with the drive. The other phenomenon is that once
Excel hangs all print commands from any program behave in a similar
manner and FileMaker Pro will not allow me to go into Layout mode.
Sometimes these other problems are just time consuming as it may take
5 minutes to get a print dialogue window. With Microsoft Office
uninstalled everything is fine. When it is installed Word will work
normally as long as I don't start Excel. A week and a half ago I had
no problems. I need Excel to work. Has anyone else suffered from a
similar issue
