I use Excel for Mac (2004) at home, and Windows Excel at work. In the
Windows version, the F2 key will let me edit the contents of a cell, but
this doesn't work in the Mac version. Is there an equivalent key (and no, I
don't want to use the mouse) that will let me edit within a cell?
In addition to Ctrl-u, you might find this helpful:

Also, is there a list of what each function key does in the Mac version?
See Help ("Keyboard Shortcuts"). Note that MacXL keyboard shortcuts can
be customized (Tools/Customize/Keyboard), though the MacOS keyboard
shortcuts (System preferences/Keyboard and Mouse/Keyboard Shortcuts)
will take precedence.
