The user that I have tested this script on has 8 Root Folders, and
inside each of those root folders is a multitude of sub folders.
Now I have run the script a number of times and it makes it through
the first Root folder and its subs without a hitch.
It gets to the 2nd root folder and stops at the first sub folder. Now
I'm not sure if there are any corrupted emails in there (I have read
that the script will stop if it finds any), but what I did notice is
this user had placed a period at the beginning of that first sub
folder name (eg) .TEST
As you most likely know a period in front of a name makes that file
invisible. Usually, it's a corrupt folder that stops the script.
He had done it that way so that those folders with periods will sort
to the top of the list. He actually has quite a few of those types of
named folders scattered throughout the rest of his Root folders.
I would replace the script with a space or an *. I don't know enough about
scripting to know if this is possible to fix using a script, but expecting
someone to write a script for one person that would probably would never be
used again isn't likely.
Has anyone encountered this when they've run this Jolly Roger script?
I use this script all the time and have never seen this, but I have never
seen anyone that used a period in front a folder name.
If Jolly Roger finds this post, do you know if your script does stop
at folders that began with a period or would it be an email corruption
issue?
He hasn't been on the list in quite some time. I'll cc him off list.
