Error message - "Does Not Comply with Required Standards"

Version: 2004
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: pop

When I try to send emails, I am getting this error message daily now: "5.7.1 n0JHpx15023913 This message does not comply with required standards".

It used to only happen once every few months - but it's been increasing daily; today it already happened 4 times (about 25% of my attempted emails). There is no rhyme or reason for why/when it happens.

Sometimes it happens:
- when I hit reply to an email I communicate with regularly
- sometimes when I compose a new one to a new address
- sometimes with attachments, sometimes without (and sometimes when I take off the attachments it will send it no problem - but then how do I get those attachments to my clients?)
- sometimes when I remove HTML, it will then send it, other times it makes no difference.
- sometimes if I hit reply and it happens, I can cut and paste into a new email and it will send it, other times it makes no difference.

Apple tech support won't help me - says its an Entourage problem, my ISP has no idea, I've done Google searches to no avail, and searches on Entourage help, MS Office help for Mac, also to no avail. Once I saw a suggestion to remove the "Re:" in the subject line and perhaps that will help, but that's not been an issue. I work out of my home, so I don't have an IT dept to turn to for help.

One person suggested it was the receiver's issue - but why would it just decide to start, when I've been able to send to those addresses in the past?

I've recently expanded my signature to include several links to my websites and blogs, but I get hundreds of emails with the same thing from other marketers, so why would that affect it (someone suggested that was one potential reason)?

Is there help anywhere out there for this problem? I don't know where to turn!

Thanks,

Jennifer
