It seems that every time I sync my BlackBerry with my iMac using "Missing Sync for BlackBerry" I end-up with duplicate entries of calendar dates all over the place. (1) Anyone familiar with this issue and how to fix it? If not, (2) is there a Duplicate Finder in Entourage so I can dump the dupes without having to manually do so with EACH duplicate EACH time this happens?
Thanks.
Hmmmm!!!! I've posted about this many times but it doesn't seem to be
getting across in this forum. This is an Entourage problem and has
been there since day 1. It is not a Markspace problem and if you post
on their forum you'll get this answer. Can I ask, do you have more
than one module enabled. If so, that's why you are getting dups. An
engineer at Markspace has replicated this also and his name is Brian
in the Palm OS forum. I found a workaround a way back when - lets say
mid Feb and everything works fine as long as I only have, in my case,
Calendar enabled using the combine command to create a new calendar in
iCal. Try this and let me know how you make out (BTW, I sync both a
Palm TX and Blackberry using Missing sync often more than once a day
without problems:
Sync services in Entourage is quite buggy/flaky. If you have more than
one
module turned on for sync'g this is one of many weird behaviors
you'll
encounter. Just sync your most active module. In my case, I have only
calendar turned on.
To correctly set everything right, turn off all modules in Ent. Go
iCal and delete the iCal calendar. Go to Ent and turn on Calendar,
choose combine, then OK. It will build a perfect new iCal calendar
and
you should notice everything sync'g right. Now for the time consuming
stuff. You want to update your addressbook and sync it. Go to Ent,
turn of calendar then OK, delete the iCal Ent calendar, go to Ent and
turn on Addressbook only, choose combine then OK and your addressbook
will be in sync. Back to Ent, turn off Addressbook, turn on Calendar,
combine, OK and it will just create a new iCal Calendar.
Make sure you back up the main identity, iCal, and Addressbook before
doing any of the above.
Finally, if you're using a handheld after doing any of the above all
three Missing Sync modules Events, Tasks and Contacts should be set
to
over right on first sync to ensure they are in perfect harmony. If
you
just sync you might get sync services errors which can be messy to
sort out.
Hope that helps.
