You have to open the note to view. The ability to view note in preview pane
is a top request. Please add your voice to this request by sending in
feedback.

Add to this the fact that you can't see notes as icons, only a list
view. I used to use notes a lot on Windows, but this is really sort of
ugly and not very user friendly. I can't say it's a bug, but it's
lacking user friendliness.
