Sorry I miss-typed. I can't send email out. I do have it set for 'Use same
settings" and the password is saved.

I am using the smtp.mac.com and it won't receive email.

Whenever Entourage in Office 2008 tries to connect to my .Mac email to send

Do you have a valid SMTP Server setting in your Entourage setup for .Mac?
The ,Mac server for incoming mail (IMAP or POP3) is mail.mac.com, but that
doesn't work for outgoing mail. You have two choices for SMTP server:
1) Use smtp.mac.com. In the advanced settings click "SMTP server requires
authentication" and "Use same settings as receiving mail server".
2) Use your ISP's outgoing mail server, and set the advanced settings to
suit that server's requirements. For example if you use a Verizon DSL or
FIOS connection, the SMTP server should be outgoing.verizon.net, and under
advanced settings select "requires authentication" and "log on using" and
add your Verizon username and password.

Your original message said you can't send mail; this one says you can't
receive it. Which is correct?
Do you have mail.mac.com for the incoming (IMAP or POP) server and
smtp.mac.com for the outgoing (SMTP) mail server? Do you have "SMTP server
requires authentication" and "Use same settings ..." checked under advanced
sending settings? Is the password saved in your keychain?
