Re: Swittching from Outlook 2007: Try Entourage? Or Parallels?

I'm in the same position with Outlook and Entourage. I think the short
answer is that Parallels with Outlook is the way to go. I just
installed the new Office 2008 and it's just amazing to me that this is
all they could deliver after 4 years! One minor, but genuinely
annoying feature, is that the Remove button for attachments is still
there under Open and Save, but it remains dimmed. The only way to
remove attachments is to go to the Message menu and choose Remove All
Attachments. Sooo, then why is the Remove button there at all, and why
is it dimmed if the functionality is built into the product?

There are dozens of these "gottchas" in Entourage that will drive you
crazy. The other one for me is the inability to choose Attach Item.
Instead, you need to choose the item first then choose forward as
attachment. If you were looking to forward an e-mail as well as a
contact, you'd need to do it twice.

No PST files. This makes archiving a nightmare. 'Nuff said.

I am an extensive user of Notes in Outlook. No compatibility for Notes
with Exchange.

Blackberry Desktop Manager is now disabled with Entourage 2008. This
sure sounds like a heavy-handed way to force users into working with
Windows Mobile.

I might launch Entourage for a quick look at mail if I'm racing for a
plane, but in the office, unfortunately, it's still necessary to use
Outlook via Parallels.

And to repeat myself, it is hard to believe that this is the first
update to Mac Office in 4 years. There is very little there other than
now, it runs native to OS X.
