As Diane mentioned, several scripts have been written to remove duplicate messages from Entourage:

One of them is written by yours truly: "Remove Duplicate Messages" Author: Jolly Roger

What I like about mine is it doesn't just go by the subject, date, and sender, but also by the message ID, which is always unique - so my script won't think two messages are the same by accident. Also, my script keeps a log of what it does and archives all messages it deletes so if you want one back you can just drag it back into Entourage.
