Re: Entourage connection to exchange through firewall not working.

Hi Corentin,

Thanks for the response, I should be more detailed.

It's Entourage 2004 latest updates, and Exchange 2003 SP2

It seemed to work fine within the office, regardless of the firewall,
obviously because within the office I was not going through the firewall.
But remotely the new firewall seemed to do something to stop it.

When I said IMAP, I don't know the ins and outs, what I meant is that I can
use Entourage 2004 to set up what it's calling an IMAP account to use my
email on the exchange server. And Macintosh Mail also makes a connection
without a problem. One thing I do not understand is that the Mail
application connects using the default settings, which are SSL turned off. I
thought that SSL should be turned on but it doesn't work when I do that.
Similarly, the Entourage connection only worked remotely when SSL was turned
off.

But it only worked when the company had the old firewall running. Then they
apparently upgraded to a newer Sonicwall and my Entourage exchange account
immediately stopped being connected.

The settings of the firewall appear to be all the same but it seems to have
stopped my connection.

I have used, by cutting and pasting, the url that the brower uses for OWA.

I'm not sure how to troubleshoot this more.

Is it Entourage X or 2004??

What I can do is connect with a web browser with no problem.

That's a good thing.

And I can connect using Mail (with SSL turned off !!! ).
And I can make an IMAP connection too.

Well ENtourage 2004 doesn't use IMAP anymore (but X did).

But I cannot get Entourage to connect to the Exchange server the way it
should.

Try connecting through your browser, then copy the URL and paste it
directly in your account settings as your Exchange server address. DOes
this work??
