I have about 60 Mac users on Entourage using Exchange server.
It works pretty well, some of the Outlook functionality is missing, but
if you are mostly worried about having access to your mail, subfolders,
calendars, and contacts whlie offline, it works.
One exception is groups in the address book will not be visible to
Entourage. Another is Tasks and Notes are not synchronized to the
Exchange server, at all.
Public folders work well, allowing for public mail, contact, and
calendars. Access to the GAL works well, though requires searching
rather than getting a list. Since Entourage uses LDAP to access the
GAL, this is the normal and designed behavior of the exchange server
since 5.5.
As far as the size of the database, it seems limitless. I have users
whose mailstores are over 3GB. There are infrequent problems but they
are resolved by either a repair, or complete rebuild. The rebuild is
much less painless that it was in previous versions.
If you have any specific questions regarding specific features, post,
and we'll do our best.
