Unable to open mail folders

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

I am getting the message: "Could not open that feature. An unknown error
(4362) occurred.

It happens when I click on my
* Inbox,
- 4 of my 13 subfolders under the inbox
* Sent Items,
* Deleted Items.

* 3 of the 4 subfolders had a rule to move mail into them.
- 1 of those 3 was an existing subfolder with a rule to move mail into
it and I modified the rule today.
- 2 of those 3 were new subfolders, created just before the problem
occurred. The rules for these folders were created next. Around that time,
the problem started.

It also happens when I click on some of my new-groups, either listed under
my ISP or the Microsoft News Server. However, when I attempt to open a
newsgroup,
1. I get the error message,
2. press ok
3. then a different folder is auto selected
4. another error message pops up
in an infinite loop. I have to force quit the application to get this to
stop.

I have two rules that apply to all newsgroup messages.

I have:
* Uninstalled Office 2004 (all that seemed to do is delete my preference
file -- I dragged the application folder to the trash)
* Reinstalled Office 2004 and did the update.
* Deleted all rules from Entourage.

My Microsoft user data stayed the same.

I am using OS 10.4.3. I have not modified my system recently.

Is this the best place to get information about fixing this problem?

Thanks

.
