colored "Project Dots" have disappeared...

My projects are all still there, and when you check to see which
project an item is connected to, it still has the checkmark in the
right spot, but no colored dots are there to see which one it is on
items such as email, calendar entries, etc. did I change some setting
accidentally? Any ideas?
