Your ISP almost certainly carried news feeds.

Most of them use a server with the name format comprising 'news.' followed
by the ISP domain. e.g.: news.btinternet.com, news.mailbox.net etc.

Open your accounts windows (under tools menu) and select the news tab. Click
on the 'new' button in the window toolbar and enter the details there. The
login is almost certainly going to be the same as the ISP login for your
internet connection. Close the accounts window.

This will create a new 'news server' icon in your folder listing. Select
this and Entourage will download all the newsgroups on the server (this can
take some time, especially on dialup - there are often around 50,000
newsgroups available). Now, in the 'quickfilter' search box at top-right of
the window, enter [display newsgroups containing] 'education.distance'. I
get three newsgroups showing, including the one you want. Select it an click
on the 'subscribe' button. It should be highlighted, and appear as a
sub-folder of the news server icon in the folder listing. You can now select
this and all messages headers will be downloaded.
