They're two different things. Reinstalling office will not fix a corrupt
database. It's totally to be expected that in a case like yours "Typical
Rebuild" will not do anything - it's not a thorough rebuild and doesn't fix
serious corruption. You need to do an Advanced Rebuild. (Only if the rebuild
doesn't complete, we should make sure that you have applied all the Office
updates to 10.1.4, since the rebuilder in 10.1.4 is more robust.) there are
occasionally different problems that require a "Remove Office" and
reinstall, and the fact that it now turns out that you _don't_ crash but
simply can't connect may indicate something that might require a proper
reinstallation. But since you actually did have a corrupt database, the
rebuild may fix it all. Let's wait and see.
