Are you always double-clicking the attachment from within Entourage? What
happens if you save them to disk first (either drag to desktop, or click
"Save" in the attachments pane and save them to anywhere) and then
double-click them there? Do they have the correct icon when saved to disk?
More importantly, what happens if you use File/Open in the appropriate
application? In other words, if this is a Word .doc, go to File/Open in Word
and navigate to the saved .doc. Does it open OK?
If it's got the right icon, and it's corrupt, the problem is likely on the
_sender's_ end, not yours.
