Which version of Entourage are you using? Do you know if the cert is
actually correct and that you're contacting the server using the address
that's in the cert?

I've successfully contacted our LDAP server over SSL using Entourage 2004,
so MS's SSL code does seem to be doing the right sorts of checks using the
right sorts of certificate databases on *my* Mac.

It might help if you can obtain your POP server's certificate and the
certificate which signed it.
