You could turn off the home page entirely, as I do. I think this also makes
my new windows open up blank, which on my slow computer saves me time.
Edit | Preferences, Browser Display--don't enter anything under Home Page.
You should probably check whether you get the same behavior with all pages
on first launching, or just that page, in the interests of accurately
diagnosing the problem.
