I use IE 5.1.7 on my Mac OS 9.2.2 as my default browser.
I have the latest QuickTime 6.0.3 and Macromedia Shockwave Flash Player
v7.0r19 (Shockwave Flash NP-PPC) plugins for IE. However, when I access
free e-card favorite sites, I am now unable to open and view/play any
greeting cards with a "Flash" designation, and/or with an <.swf> file
extension.

However, I also have Netscape Communicator 4.79, and Mozilla 1.2.1 as
alternate browsers on my computer.
I have the same latest QuickTime and Flash Player plugins in both of these
browser plugin folders, and am able to open/play all e-card <.swf> "Flash"
files from both of these browsers. In the past, I had no problem
opening/playing these e-card files on Internet Explorer. What could be
causing this failure now? Do I need to add a new file helper to my
"Receiving Files" preferences, and if so, how would I set this up (i.e.,
Description, Application, Extension (.swf?), and MIME Type)?

Any enlightenment or help anyone can offer on this issue will be greatly
appreciated. I prefer using my IE browser over Netscape Communicator and
Mozilla for all Internet access and applications. Thank you!
