Event ID 1054 when accessing domain via 802.1x connection

I'm trying to setup a wireless network using RADIUS and I have everything
working just fine except that when the workstation starts up it gets a 1054
event and then won't load computer lever GPOs. I've hunted eventID.net
looking for probable causes but can't find any solutions.

Environment:

Single server running SBS 2k3 R2 set up with DHCP, DNS, WINS, IAS and Cert
Services.
WAP: Netgear WAG102 dual radio both set to WPA with RADIUS and TKIP
Workstation NICs: Intel miniPCI 2200bg and Netgear WG222v2 USB nic.
Workstation wireless set up certs etc pushed to client via GPO when the PC
was joined to the domain via wired connection.

Behavior: Both clients startup but do not seem to get an IP from the DHCP
until just after the CTRL+ALT+DEL screen appears. This seems too late for
the PC to locate the DC and GPOs so they don't run and the Application event
log show the 1054 event ID.

When these PCs are connected with a physical wire they work properly w/o
errors.

I suspect the issue is w/ contacting the DC/DNS at wireless startup but
can't pin it down to any particular issue.

BTW user lever GPOs function perfectly.

Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
