configuring Zyxel ZyWall 35 to use RADIUS

Hopefully someone has gone down this path before. I have a ZyWall 35
router with VPN working properly. I'd like to enable RADIUS so that a
RADIUS server on a 2003 box can authenticate users via their AD username/pw.
I'm fairly certain I've configured both the router and the RADIUS server
correctly, but the VPN client (Safenet) prompts me for user/pass, sits there
for a bit, then times out and can't connect. Nothing shows up in the
VPN client logs or the router logs. I'm not sure where to check
the log on the MS box (event viewer logs show nothing, but perhaps
I need to enable some sort of logging). I see different RADIUS
protocols listed on the MS side, but the hardware vendor Zyxel is
not listed. Any ideas on how to start troubleshooting this? Thanks!
