Manju,
I want to roll back the MDAC install. However, it does not show up in
the add/Remove programs. If there is a way to uninstall it manually by
deleting files and removing registery entries, I would love to find
some documented guidance on how to do this with MDAC. I think that
would be a great next step.
IAS does not start because it is not installed. When I try to install
IAS, I get the error mentioned above:
"Could not install or remove the Internet Authentication
Service component because its administration tool is not
present or is damaged"
Nothing has changed previous postings in this thread. We get the same
errors. We made progress by narrowing down to connections to some sort
of local database on the system such as Jet, ODBC, MDAC, or something.
It sort of behaves like incorrectly configured connection to an Oracle
or SQL database. If you misconfigure ODBC settings to an Oracle or
SQL, we get errors. The DBA gives us new parameters--viola connection
works. This sort of acts the same way but with the database used to
support IAS, RRAS, or other MDB that is part of the OS. Maybe there is
something in the ODBC settings???
This is proving quite a challenge for us veteren 3rd tier
troubleshooters. Considering know one has taken this issue as far as
us, we could help out mankind by solving it. I think we are close.
