Hello NS,
You can use IAS without AD. If you install IAS on a non-domain joined
machine, it will use the user accounts on the local machine SAM database to
authenticate users. If the machine is joined to a domain, you can still use
the "machine\username" syntax (rather than domain\username)in your requests
to authenticate local users.
