You don't have to have Windows Server 2003 SP1 simply to do WPA.. you will
just need to manually configure the clients.. Just so happens I'm currently
connected on a laptop that is wirelessly connected using 802.1x
authentication from a Windows XP Pro client with WPA/TKIP/PEAP-EAP/TLS
authentication against a SBS 2003 server with IAS. However, based on that
note you won't be able to test configuring the clients via group policies
for WPA until Windows Server 2003 SP1.
For testing with XP clients you may want to take a look at the XP SP2 RC on
your test machines..

Until Service Pack 1 is available and you have deployed it in your organization, you will have to configure your clients manually (there is no way to script WLAN settings for Windows XP). You need to install Service Pack 1 only on the server on which you are editing the WLAN settings Group Policy object (GPO); it is not required on the clients, domain controllers, or IAS servers. >-----Original Message----- >Eric, > >Not sure if you were wanting to do PEAP with MSCHAPv2 or with certificates, >but here are some links that should help.. > >Building a Secure Wireless LAN using Windows Server 2003 Certificate >Services >Implementing Wireless LAN Security Using 802.1X >http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/guidance/secmod 163.mspx > >Securing Wireless LANs with PEAP and Passwords >Overview of Securing Wireless LANs with PEAP and Passwords >http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/guidance/peap_0 .mspx > >Microsoft 802.1x Authentication Client >http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/server/evaluation/ne ws/bulletins/8021xclient.asp > > >-- > >Hope that helps, >David Copeland >Microsoft Small Business Server Support > >This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. > >Newsgroups: >SBS v4.x : microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz >SBS 2000: microsoft.public.backoffice.smallbiz2000 >SBS 2003: microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs > > >"ericmeng" <ericmeng@handlink.com.tw> wrote in message >news:ab8a01c4367e$7db3efa0$a301280a@phx.gbl... >> Does anyone know how to setup IAS to support the wpa >> function in windows 2003 server!!! > > >. >
